Overview
VIA Optimisations was developed during the Industrial Hackathon with SIDF as a team project around one clear idea: smarter decisions for a smarter industry. It was the first pitch under the automation track and won second place.
The challenge focused on industrial decision-making for production environments. Our direction was to make operational opportunities easier to notice, understand, and act on without overwhelming teams with unnecessary complexity.

Planning & direction
I led the team through the project flow, from understanding the factory context to shaping the prototype and preparing the final pitch. The planning stayed focused on the user journey: what decision needs to be made, what signal helps the team notice it, and how the prototype could communicate that signal clearly.

Design principle
VIA needed to feel technical and credible, but still clear enough for a fast presentation setting. The page, demo, and visuals were arranged around simple decision moments rather than heavy technical explanation.

The final setup combined a physical industrial model, Raspberry Pi connections, dashboard visuals, and a presentation narrative. It was designed to help judges and partners understand the project quickly: what the industrial context was, where the decision gap appeared, and how VIA made the opportunity visible.
Outcome
VIA became one of the strongest team projects I worked on because it combined leadership, factory research, hardware setup, dashboard development, product thinking, and live prototype storytelling. The project was presented as the first automation-track pitch and won second place, receiving award recognition with an 80,000 SAR prize.
Team
The team was a major part of why VIA worked. I led the group through a fast, high-pressure build: gathering factory context, sharing information with the team, coordinating responsibilities, and keeping the prototype moving toward a clear final pitch.
